Find help for emotional overwhelm.
Right now you’re overwhelmed by spiraling thoughts and debilitating fear. You’re struggling to process your emotions. People see you as smart and successful, but you don’t know if you can keep yourself together much longer. You’ve looking for therapy to help you understand yourself more and to learn skills that will help you feel stronger and healthier. This is the work that I do.
Those who know me best commonly describe me as kind, intelligent, and courageous. As a therapist, I’m not so much interested in “fixing problems” as in coming alongside you to share honestly what stands out and what might help. People who have worked with me in counseling have described me as gentle, down-to-earth, funny, and flexible, and have expressed appreciation for what they’ve learned not only about themselves but also about the contexts that contribute to their struggles.
I am warm and welcoming of people from all walks of life. I’m slow-paced, intentionally, because I believe that slow is fast and less is more. I believe in growth and development across the lifespan and that we are *always* in the process of becoming. I am thoughtful and love to read, and can bring to mind a lot of skills and stories from varied sources. I’m also artsy and creative, and love to adapt metaphors and strategies that apply uniquely and directly to clients’ lives. I’ve learned how to stay with emotions and in the body, which people often shy away from but is an important way to gain balance. With over fifteen years of experience and extensive training as a therapist, I am passionate about highlighting women’s voices and stories and feelings.
When I’m not in the office, I love to spend time with my daughter and our greyhound, Stitch. I enjoy reading, writing, art, music, all things crafty, watching women’s sports, and getting outside to see the beauty of the natural world.
